Currently I'm unemployed but busy repairing my home with the love of my life, Sarah. We have a little dog named Bandit who is currently a terror, and
definitely in the "puppy stage". I live in Leslie, AR, population 480 or so. I used to do small engine repair, and gardening/ mowing/ landscaping.
I'm the unofficial luthier in town, although I don't have any formal training. I've been into home recording since the early '90's.
Haven't done much of it lately since I'm making the switch to computer based recording, and my computer has been cranky for a couple of years. Got a
rack full of gear and a couple of good mics gathering dust.
My guitar list (all lefthanded):
Carvin CM140 bought in '83 which I refretted with smaller frets, and replaced some of the brass stuff on it with Graph Tech saddles and nut. It's black
with cream pickups and chrome hardware and an ebony fretboard..
'86 MIJ Fender 50's reissue Stratocaster. My number one electric. Put Seymour Duncan 50's pickups in it with the lefthanded magnet stagger. Hand
cut a 3 ply faux tortoise pickguard for it. Also refretted the neck. After an unfortunate accident with super glue

I also had to refinish the neck. (Tip: stain the
bare maple with amber stain first, then put clear laquer over it. Looks far better and the grain shows through more. I stopped at the nut and left the
headstock alone in order to preserve the decal. The stock finish is quite milky.) It's vintage white with a maple neck and chrome hardware. Man, that neck
is sure thin for a "50's" reissue. Still, it's very pretty, and sounds great.
Late '90's Carvin LB 70 bass. This one is completely stock. Maybe I learned to leave well enough alone with this one

, although I'm still looking for the
perfect bass sound. It's tobacco sunburst with gold hardware and an ebony fretboard.
Mid '80's Alvarez Regent beater, that I practiced several of my repair techniques on. All soft woods and glue. The bridge dented when I pulled the pins
with a plastic puller. The "rosewood" fingerboard bled red dye on my hands for years until I sealed it. I lied when I said all my guitars are
lefties, because this one is a righty that I never bothered to change the bridge on. Not the best instrument ever created, but as Sarah said, I have a lot of
memories with that thing, and on a good day it didn't record too bad. It's falling apart now, but maybe it'll make some kid a good starter guitar.
Who knows, I might just keep it around.
Last but not least is my brand new BR 40, which you can read about all over the forum.
That's about it!
